Too neat!

Yesterday I read in the newspaper that an art-historian found several hundred (around 1300 or so) relics in the altar at the Old Catholic church in this town. They had been hidden at a hideaway church during the Reformation, were then transferred to the St Gertrude-cathedral, and subsequently forgotten, since the Old Catholics apparently don’t go in for relic-worship.

Neither do I, but the news still fills me with glee. The idea that you have these fragments of bone and leather and fabric dating hundreds of years back, belonging to people like Willibrord and St Agnes and other saints, is causing me to go ‘Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!’.
